Crazy hair day!

On the 24 of June Tomarata school had Crazy hair day. Lots of people came to school with crazy hair (even the teachers!). We did this event to raise money for St John's "Flash a light". The supporters of "Flash a light" were ASB. Peter Corry came in to our school and brought his Ambulance.   It was really cool. The winners were Nadia from Room 1, Nathan from Room 2, Rhianna from Room 3, Nyan from Room 4, Shanae from Room 5 and Briar L from Room 6.   Man did they have crazy HAIR! After they judged the hair ASB bank brought fruit for our healthy morning tea!

Crazy Hair Day!!

On the 24th of June the whole of Tomarata School had crazy hair day. Most of us came to school with  silly looking coloured hair but we didn't do this for fun.  We did it to raise money for St John flash a light foundation. The winners for each class room got a badge which flashed. AWESOME!. For crazy hair day I put fluro pink and yellow hair spray but it wasn't as crazy as Shanaes. Shanae's had everything you could think of. The winners were Nadia (Room 1), Nathan (Room 2), Rhianna (Room 3), Nyah (Room 4), Shanae (Room 5) and Briar L (Room 6) Well Done! Overall it was really fun and really crazy.

On Friday we had Mrs Stevens teach us how to knit, weave, and plait.
I learnt how to knit, weave and I did some plaiting.  Michaela and I were the only ones that knitted. 

Disco

Friday the 11th of  June the school disco!!! It has a food counter that has lollies, drinks, and glow sticks!!! Finally the dancing starts!!!people jumping and singing around wow it is so fun.Little people chasing after each other. What a rush!!! The light flashing everywhere. Music up full volume!!! Kids everywhere, and finally everyone leaves.

Hoteo North Cross Country

On Monday which was Queen's birthday there was a cross country  by the Hoteo North Hall.
And I live just across the road from the hall so we just walked over there.  I raced in the
under 10's.  We ran about a kilometre and I was the only boy.  I came 1st and I got
a spot prize which was ten dollars but it was fun.

Soccer/Hockey day

On the 21st of May years 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 went to soccer/hockey day at port albert soccer club. Tomarata, Touhoa and Topora sorted out some teams for the events. First the year 7 and 8 teams played hockey. There were 5 teams that participated. After getting some bumps and bruises we finished all the games and went off to get lunch from the tuck shop. Then the year 7 and 8 teams swapped around with the year 4,5 and 6 teams. Now the year 7 and 8 teams had to play soccer. We were better at soccer than we were at playing hockey and we won much more games. Everyone was tired after all our games and we met up at the grand stand and went back to school on the bus. It was fun!

Speeches!!!!!

This term years 3 to 8 do speeches. Your speech has to be either informitive, entertaining or persuasive. My speech was about a high achieving New Zealander and I chose a very high achiever his name is Sir Edmund Hillary he climbed the enormous peak of Mount Everest everybody knows him. My favourite speech in our class was Michaelas she did hers on the Golden Pheonix it had a very exciting begining and it was persuasive and very entertaining.

coreys funeral

On wednesday we went to coreys funeral at snapper rock road albany. We took holly with us.It took us a long time to get there. We saw coreys coffin inside the car that held the coffins.We sat down on the floor and waited for everyone to get there.A lady stood up and talked about corey. Then we watched a slide show about him with crazy frog music.It had funny pictures of corey. At the end we all had to sign the book and let go of a balloon.It was a sad day.

Technology

The Year 7's have started their 6 week block of technoogy at Rodney College.  This term they are learning to work with fabric and wood.  Kiarn, Shannon, Hannah, Ethan and Korbin show us some of their wood masterpieces.
